Easter
We kicked off Easter the week before with a jump house party. Our church knows the owners of the Family Fun Center and they are typically not opened on Sundays but opened the place up for Elevation on Palm Sunday. Micah had a ball with his cousins the crazier and higher the slides the better (we'll, according to him). Lucas warmed up to the place faster than I anticipated. Anywhere Ellie went he was right behind her. They had a skating rink, laser tag, and an egg hunt. The boys came back worn out!
We were able to color Easter eggs with my mom before she flew out Saturday evening. This was Luke's first go around with it. He couldn't quite grasp the concept of gently placing the egg in the dye. He would drop them in about a foot above the glass. I think 6/6 eggs of his were broke before all was said and done but he thought the whole process was great regardless. (Good Friday my mom took the boys to our church's Seder dinner/passover dinner. I was super bummed to miss this and am hoping they do it again next year!)
Um. I think he might be trying to drink the vinegar water here..
I love that Lucas is able to participate in so much this year. It is so fun watching the boys enjoy the same things together. It took him no time at all to figure out the whole egg hunt thing. Micah was a trooper and left all the low ones for Lucas to grab.
Easter morning we ate brunch at the church with the cousins and had an early morning church service. Tim (my nephew) and I were greeters. I signed up in January to be on the hospitality team so I could get to know people better. Last week I had coffee with Cindy a friend that I'm getting to know well and she asked if I would be willing to take on the leadership role for the hospitality team. I am very excited to be able to serve. Elevation has been a life savor for me since moving here, and should only open more doors get get to know more people and build relationships.
After church the boys got to have a confetti egg hunt outside. What little boy wouldn't love being able to make a mess smashing eggs and having glitter fly everywhere??
This was Easter dinner (Salmon, asparagus, red seasoned potatoes, fruit salad, deviled eggs, rolls) . We actually packed PB & J's to take along to Lagoon and eat there. They were having an Easter celebration there so we thought we'd check out the easter bunny, and egg hunt. The weather was 71, and we had zero lines. I think we set the bar kind of high for Lagoon. I was nervous what Luke would think of all the rides but he LOVED them. I feel a bit relieved. We all got season passes there for this year. We're hoping to hit it up as many times as possible over the next few weekends before the crazy summer crowds start.
So hard having to wait...
Big bro doing a good job keeping him back and being awfully sweet while doing it.
Lucas was not impressed with the Easter bunny...
until his turn was done and he got sad when we made him leave.
So stinkin' cute.

This whole celebration would seem pretty silly and pointless. So thankful for our risen savior. That he choose me to be a child of the King. It is overwhelming at times to think about how wide and long and high and deep is the love of our Father.
