Just Another Day In Paradise

So glad they have each other!! (Thanks Aunt Stephy for the cute shirts, I think this matching business is going to become more of a trend for the Butler boys).

Luke woke up Wednesday morning not a happy camper. I surmised it was teeth given the excessive amount of drool coming from his mouth. As the day went on he got fussier and fussier. That night he let me know something was definitely wrong. No rocking, walking, feeding, would succor. He slept from 3:30am-5:30am. YEP, that's it -- a whooping 2hrs. And screamed at me the rest of the night. I made an appointment to see his doctor first thing Thursday morning wanting to make sure it wasn't an earache he was struggling with. His ears were "pristine"as the doctor said...I must confess this news had me in a bad mood. It HAS to be something other than teeth! It's horrible for a mom to wish your child ill, but c'mon his behavior is not normal and we never knew Micah was teething till he actually had a tooth in his mouth!! Is Luke really that big of a baby?! The Doctor was finishing up examining the little guy took a peek in his mouth and discovered a mouth and throat full of ulcers! I would be screaming too if I had all that in my mouth and someone kept trying to force feed me. We were told it's a nasty virus going around, keep on top of the pain management, let it run its course and keep him away from other infants, pregnant ladies and the elderly....oh yeah, and to expect it to last 7 days....7 DAYS?! So below are pics of how we entertain ourselves at home.

His best Buzz Lightyear face

Lizard face

Fish face

Monkey face

Daddy's shirt face (Fighting Irish)

I'm not really sure, to be honest.

He's not screaming! YAY!

We were running errands this morning and poor Micah was acting extremely lethargic (UM, not normal). He was being such a trooper. After NOT wanting to pick out a toy from the store and asking me if I would hold him. I picked him up to feel his scorching hot face against mine. I asked him if he was feeling okay. He replied "No, Micah's sick, can we go home so I can go nigh-night." We loaded up and headed home. On our way we passed a park close to our house that was full of bounce houses, he was thrilled and shouted to go play. I asked if he was sure (which he was) so we stopped, got him to the bounce house where he jumped 3x then laid down in the middle of dozens of kids jumping around him. Brett rescued him and we headed home. I have never seen him so excited to lay in mommy's bed and take a nap. I asked if he need anything, he requested applesauce --by the time I went downstairs grabbed some applesauce, came upstairs..he was already sound asleep. It was less than 2 mins. Despite the lack of sleep, and extra babying going on around here- there is absolutely no other place I'd rather be. These boys have stolen my heart and I'd do just about anything for them.
