Lucas James Butler

   Lucas was born Thursday morning at 7:03 a.m May 10, 2012. I started having contractions Wednesday evening around 10 p.m. This was nothing unusual (I had been contracting the last 3 weeks!)..so I decided to turn in for the night. My parents had arrived the day before which was perfect timing. After not being able to ever fall asleep..(they were much more strong than I was used to). Brett started timing contractions and they were 6-7 mins apart around 11 p.m. By midnight they were 2 mins apart. We decided it was time to GO.

 We got to the hospital around 1 a.m (I had to shower, pack a few more things, and of course sneak in and kiss my baby one last time before bringing home another baby...this brought on the water works big time!). We were checked into triage, and monitored (I was 4cm dilated when we arrived). By 3 a.m they decided in fact that I was in true labor so we were admitted.

 We walked and walked the hospital halls stopping for breaks during contractions (stopped in the hospital cafe on the bottom floor for snacks). Got back to our hospital room around 4:30 a.m I was a 7 and ready for my epidural! Brett and I both napped for a bit. At 6:30 a.m was feeling an intense amount of pressure. When she checked me I was fully dilated, and ready to push. They paged the doctor who was right in the middle of delivering another baby and I was told to try and not to push.

 Brett started feeling queasy around this time and started throwing up...bless his heart. Right at 7 a.m the doctor was in my room, and 2 contractions later (7:03 a.m) we were told IT'S A BOY! LUCAS WAS HERE and stole our hearts the second we laid eyes on him. Our hearts our overflowing with joy. We are so thankful for our new little man. Glory be to our God and Father!
