Dedication
Psalm 127:3-5
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!
What greater privilege could we possibly have in the entire world than to lead our children to the Lord?
Today we had Micah dedicated which as our pastor said: is not a sort of "insurance of salvation" or "extra boost of grace." We are standing before God and before our brothers and sisters in Christ and saying that we are going to take our parenting role seriously. We are committing to lean on God for the help we need to do that and your brothers and sisters in Christ are going to commit to being sharpening influences in your life.

Brett and my prayer is that we make it a daily habit to bring Christ as the head of this house. It’s so easy to form bad habits. You get into a routine that’s comfortable and easy or you’re just too tired to sit down and really dig deep in God’s truth, or maybe you do sit down in God’s word with the wrong motives (just to getting something done off your “to do” list.). How can we be an example to Micah if we ourselves are not having an intimate fellowship with Christ Jesus everyday? I challenge you (myself too) to take a look at where you place most of your thoughts, and actions for the day. If your kids could talk…what would they say you value most, or how do you spend your free time? My gracious God is always so patient with me, and draws me back to Him showing me areas in my life where I need sharpening. Where would I be without out his tender love, and soft rebuke? So thankful I am made new in Him everyday despite my short comings, and failings everyday. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ!

What sweet pictures...I can't believe he's almost a year old! It was such a blessing to get to dedicate our children together! Jared and I feel very blessed that Landon will grow up with other boys whose parents are committed to raising them in the Lord! Love you guys!

Shannon, I am not sure what are more beautiful...your WORDS or the pictures...equally, I guess. Rex and I were honored to be there for Micah's dedication and as his grandparents hope we somehow reflect God's love and spirit and WORD in our lives too. Indeed, we are blessed beyond measure. Love yas!!!

Shannon, what a great post! I'm so glad you guys take your spiritual role as parents so seriously. We are so proud of little Micah and have loved watching him grow up...way too fast, might I add? You're incredible parents!
